GHMC Bypolls to be held in upcoming months

Hyderabad: Elections for two GHMC wards, Mehdipatnam and Shastripuram, will be held in the coming months after the incumbent corporators resigned to join the Assembly following their victory in the November 3o elections.
Of them, Mohd Majid Hussain, twice AIMIM corporator from Mehdipatnam and former mayor, is the Nampally legislator while Mohd Mubeen, a four-time AIMIM corporator from Shastripuram, was elected from the Bahadurpura constituency.

A GHMC official said they had written to the election panel about the two vacancies. "Once we get written instructions from the State Election Commission, we will make arrangements for conducting byelections to the two wards," the official said.
