Repeated complaints to the GHMC did not help, the residents complain

Hyderabad: Residents of Madannapet complain about health hazards due to garbage dumps in the area of the last ten days -- close to the government health care centre and the vegetable market.

More than 300 families are struggling to bear with the stench from the decomposed garbage. Repeated complaints to the GHMC did not help, the residents complain.

“I have been calling officials several times a day. They have not come. Even the GHMC garbage collecting van’s driver refused to remove the garbage,” K Srikanth, a resident said.

"Our business is suffering too due to the bad smell emanating from the garbage. We sell fresh vegetables. Our regular customers have stopped coming to us,” M. Krishna, a vegetable vendor said.
