A Padmakumar tipped to be Travancore Devaswom Board president
Thiruvananthapuram: Devaswom minister Kadakampally Surendran said that A. Padmakumar, former CPM MLA, and CPI's trade union leader K. P. Shankar Das will be soon sworn in as president and member of TDB. The third member K. Raghavan has one more year to go. The induction was cleared after Governor P Sathasivam signed the Ordinance reducing the tenure of TDB members from three to two years on Tuesday, a day after he sought a clarification.
With the Ordinance coming into force, the tenure of Prayar Gopalakrishnan as president and Ajay Tharayil as member has ended. The Governor gave his approval after devaswom minister Kadakampally Surendran met him and assured him Sabarimala pilgrimage preparation will not be affected by the dissolution of the existing Board.
