Kozhikode: Widow slams cop inaction against priest
KOZHIKODE: The widow from Kozhikode, who had accused a priest in Nadakkavu belonging to the CSI English Church, has now come out in protest alleging inaction on part of police on the matter. According to her though a complaint was filed on November 8, no action has been taken so far by the police and the priest is still continuing in the church. Talking to the media persons on Monday, she said; "After the incident, I filed a complaint to the CSI church authorities first, based on which the priest was transferred from the church. So I didn't file a complaint to the police then, but now, after a month, the priest has come back to the church and he is continuing there."
"So, I filed a complaint with the Nadakkavu police on November 8. The officials had also registered an FIR based on my statements, but no action has been taken so far. This prompted me to approach Anweshi, the women's organisation who assured to be on my side in my quest for justice." "With this priest continuing in the church I am not able to go there to attend prayers and the church authorities are cooking up stories against me," she said.
