Hyderabad: Musheerabad police registered a suo motu case against Congress workers for bursting crackers and obstructing traffic on Sunday, after the party announced M Anjan Kumar Yadav as the party candidate from Musheerabad.
Police said a group of workers led by former corporator Wajed gathered at Ramnagar crossroads burst crackers and raised slogans in support of their candidate.
Musheerabad station house officer E Jahangeer Yadav said that the gathering of people and bursting crackers were in violation of the model code of conduct. It also resulting in obstruction to the traffic. Further investigation in the case is underway, he said.
