Chennai: A standard VI student, who tried to get into a bus before it stopped, died after he fell on the road and the bus ran over him at Sunguvachatram bus stand in Kancheepuram district on Friday.
The victim, V. Hariharan, a student of a government aided school at Pannur in Thiruvallur and resident of Thirumangalam Kandigai, was trying to get into the bus like many others before it stopped to take passengers.
“The government bus plying between Thiruvallur and Sunguvachatram was arriving at the bus stand in Sunguvachatram when commuters, travelling towards Thiruvallur started getting in. In the rush he slipped from the front footboard and died as the rear wheel of the bus ran over him,” the police said. Hariharan’s body was sent to Sriperubadur GH for post-mortem.
