All steps being taken for installation of Ambedkar statue in city: Minister

Vijayawada: Minister for social welfare Merugu Nagarjuna said they were taking all steps for the installation of 125-feet tall Dr B.R. Ambedkar statue in Vijayawada on April 14, 2023.

Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, the minister lauded Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for coming up with innovative schemes to usher in social revolution to fulfil the ideals of Dalit icon Dr Ambedkar in the state. He said the CM was making all efforts for development and welfare of people, especially the backward and weaker sections of the society irrespective of caste, religion, region and political considerations.

As the state legislature to meet on Thursday, the minister called upon the Opposition parties to attend and discuss as their government was coming up with a proposal to develop three capitals to develop all three regions in the state.
