More rainfall predicted for Telangana
Hyderabad: Heavy rains, accompanied by gusty winds up to 17 knots, have been announced for the all districts of Telangana on September 15 and 16 as the southwest monsoon currents, which were weak since the beginning of September, have become active. The upper air circulation (disturbance) over Vidharbha moving to Telangana is attributed as the cause for the sudden change in the weather pattern.
The mercury level has dropped owing to the sudden rains. As on September 14, the state is running in a deficit zone. Out of 66.88 cm, the average rainfall the state supposed to get till date, it has only received 59.14 cm, a shortfall of 12 per cent. Adilabad, Karimnagar, Mahbubnagar, Medak, Nalgonda, Nizamabad, and Rangareddy districts are facing a shortage. While Hyderabad, Khammam and Warangal are surplus. But not by a large margin. Thunderstorm is likely to occur at isolated places in all the districts of Telangana.
