Government fully backs rape survivor, says Kodiyeri Balakrishnan

Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Thursday said the LDF government was firmly behind the rape survivor. The state secretary was responding to allegations levelled by P T Thomas, MLA in Kochi on Thursday, regarding attempts being made to derail the probe. He had specifically accused LDF supported MLA Ganesh Kumar of derailing the probe in actor assault case.

When asked about Ganesh Kumar’s statements, the CPM state secretary said those were his personal views and the LDF Government had nothing to do with that matter. “Our government is standing firmly with the victim. The probe initiated by the police is moving in the right direction and in a prompt manner. Our full support is with the victim,” he said.
