Telangana HC dismisses Nagam's election plea

HYDERABAD: The Telangana High Court on Monday dismissed a petition filed by former minister Nagam Janardhan Reddy challenging the election of Marri Janardhan Reddy as MLA from the Nagarkurnool Assembly constituency in 2018.

After being trounced by a margin of 54, 354 votes, Nagam Janardhan Reddy, who contested on the Congress ticket, filed the election petition in 2019, alleging that the eventual winner had not disclosed full information in his election affidavit.

A. Kranthi Kumar Reddy, representing Marri Janardhan Reddy, argued that the MLA had not undertaken any government contracts. He said the petitioner did not submit any documentary evidence.
