AIMIM sends legal notice to Oza, news portal
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad-based MIM on Thursday issued a legal notice on BJP former MLA Yatin Oza and Rifath Javed, CEO of a Noida-based news portal Janata ka Reporter for levelling alleged baseless and mischievous allegations of nexus between it and the BJP.
MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi said that the news portal carried a report on the basis of a letter written by Mr Oza to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal alleging that MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi met BJP president Amit Shah in September 2015 and discussed plans of MIM fielding candidates in Bihar for the Assembly elections.
The MIM gave a week’s time to Mr Oza and Mr Javed to tender an unconditional apology or face criminal and civil proceedings, including claim of damages conservatively estimated at Rs 50 crore.
While stating that similar legal notices will also be served to other media outlets which carried the false and baseless report, Mr Owaisi strongly denied any MIM leader met Amit Shah.
