Having a mix of students from about 17 states of the country, the institute commenced its journey in September 2015 and seems to be going great guns if early responses are anything to go by.

The summer placement season for the first batch (PGP class of 2015-17) successfully concluded with 33 companies recruiting all 48 participating students from the batch of 49, while one student opted out to pursue a start-up effort.

Dean of Academic Programmes of IIM-B and nodal officer of IIM-V, Prof. Sourav Mukherji, said, “As a young IIM, I see IIM-V having tremendous amount of advantages and opportunities. For example, since it is totally new, it can be very innovative and entrepreneurial. At the same time, it benefits from the cumulative experience of a world-class institution like IIM-Bangalore.”

Several students also explained how IIM-Visakhapatnam has set the stage for a new trajectory of their life and how wonderful it is to study with some of the best minds in the country.

Priyanka Mehta, a student of IIM, comments in the video, “It’s a totally different experience. The learning happens not only through books but also through interaction with peers.”

The Student Media Cell of IIM-V explained that the intent behind the video was to capture all aspects of the activities and culture at IIM-V and present it to the outside world in a concise and lively format.

"We had visited many scenic places of Vizag, including our permanent campus site (at Gambheeram) and Araku Valley. Vizag is host to a large number of great restaurants and fast food joints offering a variety of cuisines," he added.
