Journalist dies of stomach pain at private hospital in Pathanamthitta
PATHANAMTHITTA: Anusree Pillai (28), a journalist working with an online portal, died at a private hospital in Pathanamthitta of alleged medical negligence, after she sought treatment for stomach pain on Monday night. She is a resident of Chalappally in Chungappara here.
Anusree was given medication at the hospital after which she collapsed. She was soon taken to another hospital in Kozhanchery, but her life could not be saved. Meanwhile, the relatives of the young woman alleged that medical negligence might have caused her death. They also said Anusree fainted after she was given an injection at the hospital, which they suspect to be a medication error.
Anusree worked in various Malayalam television channels before joining an online news portal as chief copy editor. She is a post graduate in Journalism from MG University. The body will be cremated at her house premises in Pathanamthitta after autopsy at Kottayam MCH.
