In an extensive inspection by the squads throughout the district followed by the arrest of four students on Monday for impersonation in a school in Edapal, six students including four juveniles were held from two schools in Valancheri while two others caught from Kottakkal.
The Valancheri Police arrested Suhad Shaneer, 18, and Navas Muhammed, 18, from Mavandiyur Higher Secondary School near Valancheri and both of them will be produced before Tirur first class magistrate court on Wednesday. The four juveniles were produced before Juvenile Justice Board member K.A. Rugmini and released on bail.
The two students arrested from Government Rajah’s Higher Secondary School in Kottakkal were identified as Arshad, 18, and Shibin Shan, 19, and both were produced before First class magistrate court in Malappuram and remanded for 14 days. All the students impersonated themselves as others for the Tuesday’s English supplimentary examination by changing photos and pasting it on the hall tickets.
The invigilating officials caught them first after finding the photos without authorised seal on it. Some of the arrested have just passed the higher secondary this year with high marks and committed the crime for their friends, the police said.
