Congress leaders delighted massive turnout at Mancherial meeting

NASPUR (MANCHERIAL): The Congress’ 'Jai Bharat Satyagraha Sabha' infused ‘josh’ in its cadre and second-rung leaders with thousands of people and leaders attending the meeting in a jubilant mood at Naspur in Mancherial on Friday.

The meeting, which attracted people from Mancherial, Bellampalli and Khanapur Assembly constituencies, was being described as the biggest after the Indravelli ‘Dalit Girijan Atma Gourava Sabha’ in August 2021.

A large number of women carrying traditional Bathukamma and Bonalu draped in the party’s flag colours participated in the rallies and came to the venue.

A big screen that was set up as a background at the venue had logos of ‘People’s March', ‘Jai Bharat Satyagraha’ and ‘Haath se haath Jodo’. Cutouts of Dr B.R. Ambedkar and Jyotirao Phule were put up on the dais. Balladeer Gaddar and his cultural troupes performed on stage, to the delight of the large crowd.

When supporters of CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka raised ‘Bhatti CM’ slogans, he urged them to stop. He walked five km from Naspur crossroads to reach the venue late in the evening.

AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge and TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy and Telangana affairs in-charge Manikrao Thakre paid tributes to Dr Ambedkar and Jyotirao Phule.
