BR Ambedkar paid rich tributes

SC/ST organisations celebrated the birth anniversary by paying floral tributes to portraits of Ambedkar.

NIZAMABAD: Dr B.R. Ambedkar’s 127th birth anniversary was celebrated with joy in Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts on Saturday. MPs, MLAs, MLCs and other elected representatives in large numbers took part in the celebrations.
District administration officially conducted the Ambedkar birth anniversary in Nizamabad and Kamareddy district headquarters.

In Kamareddy, Government Whip Gampa Govardhan personally constructed Ambedkar statue at Ashoknagar.

The statue was unveiled by agriculture minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy. Zaheerabad MP BB Patil, collector N.Satyanarayana and others were present.
In Nizamabad, the main event was conducted at Rajiv Gandhi auditorium. MP K. Kavitha recalled the services of Ambedkar to the nation. Urban MLA Bigala Ganesh Gupta, MLC V. Gangadhar Goud, mayor Akula Sujatha, collector M. Rammohan Rao and others were present.

Meanwhile, two groups clashed over garlanding a statue of B.R Ambedkar on the occasion of his 127th birth anniversary in Mancherial district headquarters on Saturday.

A group comprising members of Ambedkar Association strongly opposed former Peddapalli MP G. Vivek garlanding the statue first and they subsequently removed the garland.

Reacting to this, Mr Vivek’s supporters picked up an argument with the Ambedkar Association members. Soon, the two groups started jostling with each other, forcing the police to intervene and pacify them. Earlier, MLC Puranam Satish and collector R.V Karnan paid rich tributes to B.R Amebdkar
