Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board managing director Dana Kishore on Tuesday said that there was no problem in the supply of fresh water to the city and the ORR zone.

Speaking at a review meeting, with officials from the revenue, operations and maintenance, transmission and summer departments, Kishore said the board was supplying 565 million gallons of water every day (MGD) and arrangements are being made to supply another 42 MGD by the end of May —22 MGD for the city and 20 MGD for villages inside the ORR.

Arrangements are being made to complete the ORR Phase-2 project by this June. Kishore said that while 20 MGD of water is already being given to municipalities, municipal corporations, gram panchayats, colonies and gated communities under ORR, another 30 MGD of water will be supplied depending on the requirement. At the meeting, Kishore directed officials to check if the bore wells were functional and and get them repaired where necessary. He approved the setting up of tanker filling stations in addition to the 74 in place.
