Bengaluru: American Airlines will launch its first direct flight from Bengaluru to Seattle to meet corporate demand.
The daily non-stop flight between Bengaluru International Airport and Seattle Tacoma Airport is expected to commence from October 2020. It will be the carrier’s only US flight to India since it stopped flying to New Delhi in 2012.
The airline plans to operate a 285-seater Boeing 787-9 aircraft on this route.
The new flight to Seattle will give passengers faster one-stop access to San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Denver, Arizona, Dallas and Chicago as compared to multiple stopovers in the past.
The Bengaluru airport launched new routes to Amsterdam and Addis Ababa recently. Flights to Tokyo and Munich are likely soon. With these new additions, Bengaluru will connect to 28 international destinations.
“We will continue to explore attractive routes that connect Bengaluru to some of the most important destinations in India and abroad,” said Hari Marar, CEO of Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL).
