Compensation for houses soon: MLA K Rajan
Thrissur: The district administration and representatives of people inspected the ongoing six-lane highway works between Mannuthy and Vadakkanchery on Tuesday. Ollur MLA K. Rajan, Alathur MP P. K. Biju and other top officials visited several worksites and received complaints from the people. Mr Rajan said their complaint about road laying was solved to a certain extent. “Houses damaged by explosions for the twin-tunnel at Kuthiran Climb will get compensation at the earliest,” he said.
“We received 242 applications and allotted Rs 3.45 crore. Those who have not yet submitted their application will be given ten more days. Besides that, by the High Court order, the permission of National Highway Authority will be obtained for handing over the compensation.” He also said overbridges would be constructed at Vaniyambara and Kombazhi, where an eight-year-old girl was mowed down by a speeding tipper while crossing the road. He said he had received several complaints about service roads and it would be taken up with the NHAI.
