Thiruvananthapuram: The 14th Annual Sports Day of Christ Nagar International School, Kawdiar was held on Friday at the University Stadium. Mr Loknath Behra IPS, DGP, Kerala State, was the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony.
Principal Rev Fr Dr Sony Palathra CMI, Fr Joseph Vattapparampil, the Manager and Fr Joseph Eenthumkuzhy, the Bursar, also graced the occasion. After the torch relay of the House Captains, the Sports Captain of the School, Abel Mathew Vinod Panikar, lit the torch. Students from Amazon House, Nile House, Volga House and Ganges House participated in various events, Mr Anil Raj and Deepa Raj, the Physical Trainers of the school led the events.
Indo-Swiss classroom
The Indo-Swiss classroom project was completed in Christ Nagar School, Kowdiar this year. This year spells the third season of the student exchange programme, which aims at granting the best ways to experience international education without spending a lot of time away from your native place. Around 19 students and three members of the faculty were involved in this project to explore and experience international education.
Yuva mastermind
A team of five students of Class X of Kairali Vidya Bhavan, Nedumangad won the Prof. Sathish John Memorial Special Prize at Yuva Mastermind Mega Final held at Younnus Convention Centre, Ashramam, Kollam. They received a memento and a cash prize worth Rs 40,000 from the Union Minister of State for Tourism, IT and Electronics Mr. Alphons Kannanthanam on January 10.The team comprised five members led by Gauripriya M R and Asna Thaj, Arif A, M S Yaseen, Salini C Das .They have successfully devised an efficient, eco-friendly and economical Mosquito Attractant Trap baited with carbondioxide and octenol. The students were assisted by Team Mentor Ms Sheela K.
Golden jubilee
Veteran actor Madhu inaugurated the golden jubilee celebrations of Darsana Higher Secondary School,Nedumangad on Saturday. The event was followed by a cultural feast Koodanayaan, by the alumni association.
Sports Day
The Sports Day of Dr GR Public school was celebrated on January 12. The great day was inaugurated by Kunjaria P Isaac; former Vice Chancellor of Dr APJ Abdulkalam Technical University by lighting the sports torch.Principal Mr Maria Joe Jagadhesh gave a warm welcome to the dignitaries with a highly informative introduction. School Managing Trustee Sister Mythili presided over the meeting. Trust member Mr Krishnakumar, School Manager Mr P Ravi Shankar, Senior Principal Ms. Gouri Nayar, Junior Principal Ms. Sivakumari, guests and parents were present.
