Dhashwanth faces women's ire in court

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Dhashwant was transported from Puzhal to the court with heavy security.

Chennai: Dhashwanth, arrested for the rape and murder of a seven-year-old child and very recently for the alleged killing of his mother, was subjected to mob justice when he was brought to the Chengalpet Mahila court on Wednesday. Scores of women waiting on the court premises started abusing him and hurled slippers at him despite heavy police protection.

Trial in the child murder case was supposed to begin on Monday. However, since he was sent to Puzhal only last Saturday, he didn’t appear before the court. Magsitrate Velmurugan issued a warrant to Dhashwanth and directed Mangadu police to produce him before December 30.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Dhashwant was transported from Puzhal to the court with heavy security. When he was about to be taken into the premises, police had a tough time pacifying the women crowd. Though several women tried to get near him, some of whom threw sandals at him and one woman attempted to slap him.

Advocate Vijayakumar, appearing for Dhashwanth excused himself from the case after which magistrate Velmurugan directed another advocate to be appointed for him.

While he managed to flee police custody, he was nabbed again on December 8. He was first arrested in February this year for the alleged rape and murder the girl and granted bail in September.
