Solar probe SIT yet to get formal order
Thiruvananthapuram: The Special Investigation Team formed for further probe into various aspects related to the Solar Commission report is yet to commence work. DGP North-zone Rajesh Dewan said that he was yet to receive the formal orders regarding the investigation and hence no steps were initiated. Other members of the team also said that they were yet to get any formal instructions from higher-ups on the probe.
The government issued the orders constituting the probe late on November 8 night and it was also presented in the Assembly along with the action-taken-report on the Solar scam’s judicial commission report. According to sources, the police officers in the investigations team were not interested in taking up the probe. Mr. Dewan, who is due to retire from service in April, had expressed his displeasure over being entrusting with the probe earlier. As many as 22 persons would have to face the probe as per the government order. It included former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, many MPs, MLAs and even IPS officers.
