Jagan Shifting May be Deferred: YV

Visakhapatnam: Regional coordinator for north Andhra YV Subbareddy made confusing comments on the CM’s shift to Visakhapatnam on Dasara day, though Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had announced his shift to Visakhapatnam from Dasara.

“The Chief Minister will shift after completion of construction work. It might be October or November,’’ Subba Reddy told the media on Friday. “The chief minister would not sneak into Visakhapatnam. He would come in a royal way through the national highway.”

The committee appointed by the government on capital shifting would visit Visakhapatnam for an inspection of the arrangements, after which the accommodation for the staff would be finalized, he said.

When he was told that former minister Ganta Srinivasa had been saying the local people were averse to the idea of making Visakhapatnam the capital, Subba Reddy responded: “Where is Ganta coming from? He wants Amaravathi as capital since his family members have vested interests there.’’
