BJP petitions CEO against Siddipet collector, top cop

Hyderbad: BJP legislator M. Raghunandan Rao on Friday filed a complaint to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vikas Raj seeking action against the Siddipet collector and police commissioner for violating the model code of conduct.

Rao alleged that Siddipet district police were acting as allies of the BRS. “When I complained against leaders of the ruling party, the BRSV leader lodged illegal cases against BJP leaders. Police registered cases under the ST, SC Act against BJP leaders based on complaints lodged by BRSV leaders," the MLA said.

He alleged that finance minister T. Harish Rao's officer on special duty A.Y. Giri, was involved in corruption cases but the police have failed to any take action. The collector indulged in distributing cheques under Kalyana Lakshmi scheme.
