THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Home Department is likely to issue a formal order for fresh investigations on the basis of Solar enquiry commission by Monday. According to government sources, a detailed order needs to be issued on the basis of the Cabinet decisions taken on last Wednesday. Hence there is a technical delay in issuing the order, it is learnt. Terms of reference for the Special Investigation Team will be mentioned in the order.
Sources said that the Special Investigation Team led by DGP (North-zone) Rajesh Dewan will be entrusted with the probe on rape case against former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and nine others. The vigilance cases announced by the Cabinet, including the one against former power minister Aryadan Muhammed, will be entrusted with the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau. Meanwhile, Mr Dewan and IG Dinendra Kashyap, another member to be included in the special team, were learnt to have expressed objections in taking up the probe. Mr Dewan has only around six months of service remaining in the force.
