Hyderabad: Boy plays messenger, helps man in seducing' woman; gets beaten up

Hyderabad: A Class V student who was inspired by Bible stories and ‘tried to help’ a private sector employee by becoming a messenger between a man and a woman whom he was trying to seduce, was caught by her husband and her brother and beaten.

Hayathnagar police registered a case of outraging the modesty of a woman against Ashok, who made the boy give a letter to the woman, and also against her brother Durgaprasad and husband Vijay for beating the boy.

Police said the boy, 10, was returning home after tuition. Ashok gave him a letter and asked him to give it to the housewife, whom he knew before she got married. When the boy took the letter to her home her husband and brother beat up the boy.

Police found from the boy that he was told at church that he will be blessed if he helped others. The boy’s father said that even when the boy pleaded innocence he was beaten.

"If locals had not seen my son they would have killed him," he said. Police arrested Ashok and are inquiring into the allegations against Durgaprasad and Vijay.
