Telangana Visishta awards for 3 literary icons
Hyderabad: The Telangana state government on Sunday announced the award of Visishta Puraskars to three literary personalities — lyricists Suddala Ashok Teja and Jayaraj, and Telugu and Sanskrit scholar Bhashyam Vijayasaradhi. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 1,00,116.
The government also announced Telangana Excellence Awards for IAS officers, recognising the exemplary public services rendered by civil servants and for implementing flagship programmes of the TS government. The award carries a trophy and a citation.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will present the awards during Independence Day celebrations at the Golconda Fort on August 15. The President’s Police Medals will also be given away on the Independence Day.
Awards to IAS officers for innovation
The Telangana Excellence Awards are in various categories. In the Innovation Category, the five IAS officers selected are: Jangoan collector A. Sri Devasena for initiating training and demonstrations of martial arts and self defence techniques to girl students in government schools.
Adilabad collector Dr Jyothi Buddha Prakash and IAS officers R.V. Karnan and Anurag Jayanthi for the project STARS-30 in ITDA-Utnoor.
HMDA Commissoner T. Chiranjeevulu for his initiative in launching the Development Permission Management System in HMDA for online development approvals.
In the General Category, those awarded are: Nizamabad collector Dr Yogita Rana for setting up the Manavatha Sadan Rehabilitation of HIV-infected children. Bhupalapalli collector A. Murali for building people’s confidence in government hospitals in the district. Jagityal collector Dr A. Sharath for achieving higher paddy procurement in the district.
In the Flagship Schemes Category, the awardees are: Siddipet collector Venkatarama Reddy for making good progress in executing Mission Bhagiratha.
Rajeev Ganhi Hanum-anthu, Bhadadri Kothag-udem district collector for effective implementation of Mission Kakatiya.
Adilabad collector Dr Jyothi Buddha Prakash for best implementation of the Kalyana Laxmi/ Shaadi Mubarak schemes.
Suryapet collector Surendra Mohan, and Warangal Rural collector Prasthan J. Patil for implementation of the Haritha Haram scheme. Nalgonda collector Gaurav Uppal for the Arogya Lakshmi scheme.
For the President's Police Medals, which will also be awarded on August 15, the awardees are: Additional DGP (L&O) Anjani Kumar, Fire Services DG Rajiv Ratan, Vigilance and Enforcement DIG N. Satyanarayana and Additional CP M. Shiva Prasad.
