KOZHIKODE: The government will soon draft a new industrial policy to ensure ease of doing business in Kerala. Interacting with organisers of Rising Kerala, an event showcasing northern Kerala’s potential in small-scale industries, here on Saturday, industries minister E.P. Jayarajan said there would be no delay in obtaining a license to begin a company or acquiring land so that they could start their project within a month.

“The government’s policy is to make available the license within a month of filing an application,” he said. “We welcome more entrepreneurs to come up with business ideas and utilise the state's potential so that the state grows much faster. We will also create a perfect ecosystem for startups.”

He pointed out that Kerala is not suitable for big industries and hence the government would promote the small-scale industrial sector. After the interactive session, he released brochures of Rising Kerala 2016 India - International Exhibition to be held in December here.
