A whopping 73 patients succumbed to Coronavirus in the state on Monday. The deaths from the past three days is a factor of real worry to the state administration and the people. The state recorded 73 deaths on Monday, 71 on Sunday and 70 on Saturday. In the past three days the state has witnessed 214 deaths.

This on one side and the spike in fresh positive cases on the other, 2,738 cases till Sunday evening.

The total tally in Karnataka crossed 40k mark and stood at 41,581. Bengaluru alone has added 1315 cases. Three districts—Yadagiri, Mysuru, Bellary and Dakshina Kannada had more than 100 positive cases, while all the districts except Ramanagar have recorded more than one positive case.
Bengaluru is nearing 20k mark and has 19,702 cases and districts like Yadagiri, Dakshina Kannada, Ballari, Kalburgi, Dharwad, Udupi and Bidar have more than 1,000 total Corona positive cases.

The state's contact tracing which received accolades have gone for a toss. In more than 1,000 cases, the source of infection is still being traced. The number of patients in the ICU too is on the rise and stands at 545. There were more than 1,000 cases with ILI and SARI, who had tested positive for COVID19.

Going by the information accessed from the high level meetings chaired by the chief minister through video conferencing, Mr Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa has given strict instructions to the officials to implement the lockdown effectively and said no lame excuses in violation. Citizens have already started stocking up groceries and other essentials and their panic shopping indicated that they are expecting the lockdown to be extended beyond July 21 and it is just that the government has not announced it immediately to avoid sending people into panic mode.
