Madhya Pradesh: Judge plays 'Good Samaritan' for old

Shoepur District and Sessions judge justice Sashikant Choubey was disturbed by the pitiable living conditions of the old age home.

Bhopal: Twenty-two inmates of an old age home in a Madhya Pradesh district have found a Good Samaritan in a local judge, who, moved by their deplorable living conditions, immediately vacated his sprawling official bungalow for their rehabilitation.

Shoepur District and Sessions judge justice Sashikant Choubey was disturbed by the pitiable living conditions of the old age home set up in a single room of a rented house in the district headquarters town.

Therefore, the judge “spontaneously” offered the district collector Pannalal Solanki who was accompanying him to vacate the government quarters allotted to him for them.

“The district collector then and there completed all formalities to relocate the old age home to the judge’s bungalow,” an official in the state law department told this newspaper.

It may be noted that the judge personally supervised arrangement of modern amenities in the bungalow to ensure that the inmates do not face any kind of hassles or inconvenience.
