Hyderabad: Man who robbed ATM held
Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police caught a man who had stolen Rs 3.54 lakh from an ATM at Kushaiguda on Wednesday. The amount was seized intact from him.
According to the police, the accused was identified as Tudi Vignesh, 28, who was a cash custodian in CMS and is a native of Keesara.
“On Saturday, he went to a Kamalanagar ATM in ECIL at around 11.30 pm and with the keys and took the cash away. Vignesh has been working with the CMS group for five years and was in-charge of the Malkajgiri route,” DCP Malkajgiri, Uma Maheshwar Rao said. The theft was noticed two days later on Monday when the service technician got a message saying that the ATM was broken into.
“After tallying the accounts, bank officials found a shortage of '3,54,500. Following a complaint, the police registered a case and investigation was initiated,” the official said.
The police who verified footage recorded by CCTV cameras and identified the man with the help of company staff and immediately nabbed him.
“On questioning, he told that since he had the route keys of the ATM machines, he opened the panel. He then used the cash chest's key to break the lock and remove the cash,” the DCP said.
