Hyderabad: Interstate house burglar arrested
Hyderabad: Keesara police on Wednesday caught an interstate house burglar involved in 12 property offences and recovered 30 tola gold ornaments and 1.5 kg silver articles from him.
According to M. Surendra, inspector, identified the accused as Lukalapu Uma Maheshwar, a native of Srikakulam who was involved in 14 house burglary cases reported in Keesara, Kushaiguda and Neredmet police station limits. He was earlier arrested by the police in Odhisa, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states for similar offences.
“The man would visit the city and take shelter in some slum. During the day, he would visit the colonies around the area and identify houses that are locked. He would revisit the house the next day to ensure that the occupants are out of station or are on a long vacation. During the night, he would break into the house,” the inspector said. Surendra carries an iron rod with him to make entry into houses easy.
The police also arrested a woman, Kurakula Yadamma, 46, a resident of Cherlapally for providing shelter to the offender during his visit to the city and helping him dispose the property.
