Youth League protests against exam malpractice

The protesters warned of further steps if the officials fail to take necessary actions.

Kozhikode: The Youth League members marched onto the office of the assistant educational officer at Mukkam on Monday, demanding a judicial inquiry on the examination malpractice discovered from GHSS Neeleswaram.

The protesters warned of further steps if the officials fail to take necessary actions. Police arrested the YL Thiruvambadi constituency unit members who blockaded the civil station.

Nishad V. Muhammed, a computer teacher at the school, wrote the English exam on behalf of two students who were weak in the subject.

The malpractice was to achieve 100 per cent victory in the higher secondary results, which will uplift the school's prestige and attract brighter students.

The news came into notice after the results from the school were withheld.

"The tampering of the exam system is a grave crime that should receive severe punishment. The delay in registering a case against this is itself doubtful and shows the government's and educational department's negligence. Also, the ongoing investigation is an eyewash," says Sajid Naduvannur, the district Youth League president who inaugurated the march.
