Thiruvananthapuram/ Kozhikode: The Kerala Higher Secondary Directorate has sought a police probe into the malpractices detected in the higher secondary examinations at the Government Higher Secondary School at Neeleswaram, Kozhikode.
Higher Secondary Director Jayasree T.V. has written to DGP Loknath Behera seeking a report on the issue.
Moreover, the Kozhikode regional director of higher secondary education was asked to file a complaint in the local police station. The letter demanded a high-level inquiry to ascertain whether the teachers had indulged in such malpractices in the past.
The government had earlier suspended the school principal and chief superintendent of examination K. Raziya, examination deputy chief P.K. Faizal and additional deputy chief Nishad V. Muhammed based on a report by the higher secondary director.

Class XII and corrected the answer sheets of 32 students who appeared for the Class XI computer science examination with the connivance of the school principal and the examination deputy chief.
The malpractice was detected during the evaluation of the examination papers. The teachers who valued the papers raised doubts about possible impersonation. The authorities then examined the answer papers of the same students in other examinations. This resulted in revealing the malpractices.
The Mukkam police has registered non-bailable cases against Nishad V. Muhammed and P.K. Faizal. The police said the delay in registering the case was because no complaint had been received from officials or parents. The teachers, who will be arrested, will be produced before the district court, the police said.
