Karnataka: SSLC result rumours spread, students rush to the board
Bengaluru: Rumors of the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEB) announcing the results for the Senior School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) or Class 10 examinations took the social media platforms by a storm on Friday. Many students and parents rushed to the board and also flooded it phone calls to confirm whether the results were indeed announced.
A message on one of the social media sites read, "Karnataka SSLC results to be announced today. To check click on the link...” KSEEB Director Yashoda Bopanna said, "We cannot announce the SSLC results just because a section of the media spreads false information. It will be announced before May 25. Authentic news will be shared before announcing the results."
The KSEEB office in Malleshwaram was flooded with thousands of telephone calls from students and parents. A few parents and students also rushed to the board office to get a clear picture on the results. KSEEB officials said they had a tough time answering the calls, which started early Friday morning. Ms Bopanna said that she too received hundreds of calls from students.
