HC orders to stop searches on Margadarsi main branch

HYDERABAD: The Telangana High Court on Thursday was not inclined to issue any relief orders to stay or stop searches by the AP CID on the main branch of Margadarsi Chit Funds Pvt. Ltd at Hyderabad. However, the court directed the agency to not take coercive steps against the employees. The court also ordered that employees should cooperate with the agency officials.

Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy was dealing with a petition filed by employees of the company seeking to direct the agency to stop searches.

Margadarsi and its MD had moved similar request before the court on Wednesday without filing an application which the court denied to hear. Employees moved a lunch motion petition on Thursday afternoon.

During arguments, AP Special Counsel Govind Reddy stated that inspections which started on Wednesday ended at 9 am on Thursday. There is no point in filling petition to stop the inspections. After hearing the arguments, the court was not inclined to pass any orders on searches.
