More facilities at rail station: MP

The new benches were provided at Visakhapatnam, Duvvada and Simhachalam railway stations under MP LADS.

Visakhapatnam: In a move to improve passenger amenities at railway stations, falling in the jurisdiction of MPs, under MP LADS, Vizag MP Dr. K. Haribabu commissioned the stainless steel and precast concrete benches in the presence of Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Waltair, Chandralekha Mukherjee. Later, speaking to mediapersons, the MP assured cooperation and coordination with the railway administration for the development of the train stations.

The new benches were provided at Visakhapatnam, Duvvada and Simhachalam railway stations under MP LADS. Various other new facilities are also being added to Vizag railway station. Wi-fi at Visakhapatnam railway station is expected to be launched shortly. The soft launch was done on March 31.

A world-class food plaza will be available very shortly and the soft launch was done on March 30. Two lifts each on platform No. 6/7 & 8 is expected by July.
Further, two escalators on Platform No. 1 and 8 are expected to be made available this fiscal.

The most-awaited see through coaches for Araku are expected to be rolled out from the Integral Coach Factory, Chennai by June/ July. The works of executive lounge at middle entrance on platform No. 1, Visakhapatnam railway station, will begin shortly. Over 10 purified mineral water vending machines have been provided. Work for washable apron on Plat form No. 4 will begin soon.
