Museum to show evolution of Information Technology on the anvil

The museum will showcase the evolution of IT in Telangana since 1980s.

Hyderabad: An Information Technology museum is likely to come up in T-Hub Reactor, the phase-2 of the startup initiative of Telangana.

The museum will showcase the evolution of IT in Telangana since 1980s.

The first phase of the museum is expected to be small and will come up about a year after T-Hub phase-2 is launched.

The executing agency Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association (HYSEA) has so far acquired artefacts like legacy systems, biggest hard drives that companies use and initial dish antennas.

The museum will also showcase how Cyberabad was transformed and the important milestones in IT corridor pictorially.

But, HYSEA is facing snags in securing artefacts from companies not in favour of parting with their systems. HYSEA is working with several agencies, including the government, to procure them from tech firms.

HYSEA president Ranga Pothula said, “We created a committee and are actively working with Software Technology Parks of India, Engineering Staff College of India and IT department.

“We have the concept ready and the whole museum will be specific to Telangana. We are collaborating with several IT companies to gather the artefacts.”
