MP: Weeklong celebration in MP to mark Ayodhya Ram Mandir consecration

Bhopal: A weeklong celebration will kick off in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday to mark January 22 consecration ceremony in Ayodhya Ram Mandir.

A nine-point order issued by the Madhya Pradesh religious trusts and endowments department late on Friday evening unveiled the plan to hold various religious and cultural programmes across the state for a week from January 16 to mark January 22 Ayodhya event.

“Ram Kirtan should be held in every temple in the state from January 16 to January 22, 2024 and lamps should be lit in all the temples. People should be encouraged to celebrate the Ayodhya event like ‘Diwali’ (festival of lights) by lighting their houses. Ram Charit Leela (drama) should be organised in each locality”, the order read.

The order said that life-size LED screens should be installed in all the major shrines in the state to telecast live the January 22 consecration ceremony in Ayodhya Ram Mandir.

People should be invited to witness the telecast and necessary arrangements should be made for this.

Mass feasts should be organised by the temple trusts and temple committees in the major shrines on January 22.

Various cultural programmes based on the theme of Lord Ram should be organised and a special cleanliness drive should be launched in all the temples in the state from January 14 to January 22, 2024.

All the government schools and colleges should be decorated from January 14 to January 22, 2024.

Special cleanliness drive should be launched in government establishments from January 16 to January 22, 2024 and they should be lit with lamps from January 21 to January 26, 2024.

The pilgrims visiting Ayodhya Ram temple from Madhya Pradesh should be welcomed at various places by showering flower petals on them, the order said.

Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh government on Saturday declared January 22, a holiday for educational institutions in the state on the occasion of the consecration ceremony in Ayodhya Ram Mandir.
