C'garh: Maoists Accuse Security Forces of Drone Attacks in Bastar

Raipur: Maoists on Sunday accused security forces of deploying drones in Bastar in Chhattisgarh to target them.

A press release issued by the South Sub-Zonal Bureau of the outlawed CPI (Maoists) has alleged drone attacks in the forested areas in the borders of Sukma and Bijapur districts by security forces, targeting them.

The Maoists alleged that some areas near the villages of Mattaguda, Ernapalli and Battetong in Sukma districts were recently bombed with the help of drones by security forces.

Drones have been deployed round-the-clock in Bastar, the Maoists alleged.

The rebels alleged that drone attacks in remote Bastar have been going on since 2021.

Police however denied the charges, calling it a ‘false propaganda’ by Maoists.

“It is a false propaganda by Maoists. False propaganda is one of the key tools of Leftwing insurgency”, Bastar range inspector general of police P Sunderrajan said.
