Hyderabad: The Jalagam Vengalrao Park in Banjara Hills is undergoing a transformation, thanks to the efforts of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials who are cleaning the pond and undertaking beautification projects, including landscaping.
During a recent visit, GHMC commissioner Ronald Rose emphasised the need to establish a Yoga centre and urged officials to expedite ongoing improvements. Additionally, he instructed them to enhance facilities for visitors, providing more spaces to sit and relax.
To address environmental concerns, GHMC has successfully diverted sewage and drain water from entering the park, allocating '67 lakh to ensure the preservation of the lake within it. Prior to these initiatives, the lake was in poor condition, facing pollution issues, including untreated discharge of sewage from upstream areas.
