Congress, Left Parties call for Sadak Bandh Today on Highways

Hyderabad: The Congress and the Left parties have called for "sadak bandh" (road blockade) for two hours on Saturday on the Mahbubnagar, Warangal, Ramagundam and Khammam highways from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm in support of students and unemployed and with a demand for the overhaul of the TSPSC for leakage of question papers.

This is for the first time in recent years that the Congress is holding a joint protest with the CPI and CPM to which the BSP, TJS, New Democracy Party, Praja Pantha Party and organisations like Telangana People's JAC, student organisations like PDSU, SFI have extended their support.

On the Hyderabad-Mahbubnagar highway, the road blockade will be held at Jadcherla, Shadnagar and Shamshabad; on the Warangal highway at Station Ghanpur, Jangaon, Aleru, Bhuvanagiri and Ghatakesar; on the Ramagundam highway at Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Siddipet, Gajwel, Shamirpet and Tumkunta; and on the Khammam highway at Kusumanchi, Suryapet, Nakrekal, Narketpally, Chityal, Choutuppal and Hayathnagar.

The parties are demanding the replacement of the TSPSC chairman and members for the leakage of question papers and failure to conduct exams properly, enhancement of teacher vacant posts to 13,500 under DSC notification, payment of '3 lakh compensation for cancellation of exams.

TPCC chief A.Revanth Reddy gave a call to party leaders and cadre in respective districts to take part in sadak bandh in large numbers and make it a grand success to express the resentment of students and unemployed towards the BRS government and TSPSC.
