JS accuses three ruling party MPs of illicit land deals

VISAKHAPATNAM: Jana Sena leader and GVMC corporator P.L.N. Murthy Yadav alleged that three ruling party MPs – Rajya Sabha member V. Vijay Sai Reddy, Visakhapatnam MP M.V.V. Satyanarayana and Rajya Sabha member from Nellore V. Prabhakar Reddy are directly or indirectly involved in land deals worth thousands of crores in Visakhapatnam.

Addressing media here on Wednesday, Yadav said Vijay Sai Reddy’s daughter Neha Reddy started purchasing lands after the MP arrived in Visakhapatnam as YSRC in-charge of north Andhra. Seeing her, several other YSRC leaders started acquiring lands in the port city.

The JS leader alleged that Neha Reddy acquiring shares in Radisson Blu resort, partnership in Bay Park hotel and settlement with regard to 70 acres of land in Madhurawada came about only after Vijay Sai Reddy arrived as ruling party in-charge in Vizag.

The JS leader went on to allege that another Rajya Sabha member Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy acquired development rights over 50 acres of prime land in Rushikonda layout from Radiant Developers, who had bought the land for just ₹46 crore in an auction from VUDA, when the actual cost of the land is ₹1,000 crore.

“Under pressure from MP Vijay Sai Reddy, GVMC took just six hours to approve the plan for development of the layout. IAS officer K. Lakshmisa had been transferred from the post of GVMC commissioner after she raised objections over this,” Yadav remarked.

Similarly, he alleged, local MP M.V.V. Satyanarayana got involved in signing of a development agreement in Kurmannapalem in Visakhapatnam by offering pittance to the land owners. He also went on to accuse Satyanarayana of being involved in the Hayagriva land scam at Yendada in Visakhapatnam, where the MP’s partners are developing villas in violation of laws.

“Even now, it is not too late for the state government to take back Hayagriva and Daspalla lands for public use,” the Jana Sena leader remarked.
