ADILABAD: Arrangements are being made to start cotton commercial operations at the market yard for this Kharif in the Adilabad district. The cotton commercial operations are going to start on October 14.
The early arrival of cotton is, however, very small in quantity as cotton picking has not yet picked up in the villages and the cotton crop has come to the harvesting stage only at a few places in the district.
The area of cotton cultivation is high in Adilabad and Komaram Bheem Asifabad districts. It is expected that 25 lakh quintals of cotton will arrive in the markets in the district this season. According to rough estimations, cotton was sown on 4 lakh acres this Kharif season in the Adilabad district.
