KOLLAM: The CPM leaders have taken vengeance at a local resident at Thevalakkara by erecting a party flag post in front of a three-cent house plot that he had purchased there. S. Shajahan, Vettichalam Veedu, Palakkal, Thevalakkara, told DC that some local CPM leaders had an eye on the property at Poozhamkulam junction which he had purchased six months back. As they failed to get it, they installed a flag post blocking the entrance to the property though the party had another flag post close to it.
“I had submitted an application to the Thevalakkara panchayat seeking permission to construct a house in the property. Meanwhile, a group of CPM workers erected a flag post with a cement basement right in front of my property,” he said. Mr Shajahan had filed a petition with the Thevalakkara police and the RDO on September 28. The RDO asked the police to give a report on the issue, but they are yet to do it,” he said. CPM area secretary T. Manoharan had promised to take necessary action after visiting the site, Mr. Shajahan said. The issue has also attracted the ire of local residents.
