Visakhapatnam Catholics rally for peace in Manipur

Visakhapatnam: In a display of solidarity and compassion, hundreds gathered on Saturday at the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Visakhapatnam supporting people of Manipur in their quest for harmony and stability.

Following a solemn call by Archbishop Dr Mallavarapu Prakash to stand together as a nation and support our fellow citizens in times of need, those who gathered started in a procession carrying placards and banners with messages – Together for Manipur's Peace and Harmony Prevails.

The procession wound its way from the Catholic Church to Collector’s Office via Archbishop’s House, St. Anthony’s Church and Maharanipeta. Fr. J. John Prakash coordinated the rally.

A participant Annapurna said: "It crushes my heart knowing what our brothers and sisters in Manipur are going through. We must bear in mind that as we are all connected, our pain is all connected. It is encouraging to see a peace march in Visakhapatnam for Manipur. This serves as a reminder that love and peace may mend even the most severe wounds.”
