HYDERABAD: Security for two BJP leaders from Telangana state, Huzurabad MLA Etala Rajendar and Nizamabad MP Arvind Dharmapuri has been upped from Thursday.
Rajendar’s promised Y Plus category security is now in place after he and his family complained that a “supari” contract has been given for killing the leader. Rajendar’s wife Jamuna went on to allege that BRS MLC Padi Kaushik Reddy is behind the “supari”.
The BJP MLA earlier had 2 plus 2 security. This has now been enhanced to 11 security personnel working in three shifts. Six will be personal security officers working in six hour shifts. Five will be posted at his residence.
Rajendar’s security has been enhanced after IT minister and BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao said the state government will step up security for the BJP MLA, who had been a minister twice in the BRS government’s first and second terms.
Rajendar is also BJP’s state election committee chairman.
MP Arvind Dharmapuri has been provided Y category security by the central government. CRPF personnel will be deployed for his security.
