Congress is supply point for BJP: Pinarayi Vijayan
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday lashed out at the Congress for failing to counter the onslaught of the BJP – Sangh parivar combine.
The Chief Minister who was inaugurating the state conference of PSC employees here said at a time when the BJP was going all out attacking plurality in the country, the Congress was nowhere to be seen. “What is the difference between the policies of Congress led governments in Madhya Pradesha dn Rajesthan and the BJP led-government at the Centre,” he asked while referring to some of the recent decisions taken by those governments.
He said the BJP led government at the Centre was indulging in a number of anti democratic activities. However, as a party the Congress has failed to challenge or counter the anti-democratic stand of the BJP.
Mr Vijayan said after Lok Sabha polls there was no count of the number of Congress leaders who have crossed over to the BJP. There is no leadership to check this flow. “Actually Congress has become an organisation for supplying leaders and workers to the BJP. In Karnatka 13 MLAs have crossed over while in Goa the legislators who joned BJP include the opposiont leader,” he said.
The Congress leadership has failed to rise up to the occasion in the wake of huge defeat and put up a fight against the BJP. The leaders are keen on leadership posts only when there is big victory, he said taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi's decision to step down.
