Local schools get PRISM of life in Kozhikode
KOZHIKODE: Government and aided schools located under Koyilandy assembly constituency, which are struggling without proper infrastructural development, are all set to get a new lease of life soon. All thanks to PRISM(Promoting Regional Schools to International Standards through Multiple Intervention) implemented by A Pradeep Kumar MLA in Kozhikode.
Koyilandy MLA K Dasan, inspired by the model, has taken the initiative of picking some Government and also aided schools in the region which are crying out for immediate facelift. The project, which is already being implemented in the Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Koyilandy, will be beneficial for at least 25 schools in the constituency and will be carried out with the help of the public and MLA fund.
The project will be initiated under the banner of DEEP (Dasan Educational Empower-ment Programme) conceived by local body representatives from the region. “We started with the Boys school, one of the oldest schools here with a 90-year-long history, and now the State Government has come forward to fund the development of the school to International Standards”, said Mr Dasan. He said that the main was to design a project to improve the physical amenities and academic programmes of the selected schools.
“As per our plan, we have decided to implement the project in Government Vocational Higher Secondary School, Payyoli, Government Mappila Vocational Higher Secondary School, Koyilandy and Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Koyilandy, that were among some of the prominent schools here,” MLA K Dasan further added.
