Kerala: Nimisha's mom submits memo to Thawar Chand Gehlot
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: K. Bindu, mother of Nimisha alias Fathima Nimisha, who has reportedly joined the IS with her husband, handed over a memorandum to Union Social Justice Minister Thawar Chand Gehlot here on Tuesday seeking his intervention to locate her daughter. He promised to hand over the memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday.
The brief meeting between them took place at Thycaud Government Guest House prior to the inauguration of the Ayyankali chair of Central University, Kerala. Mr. Gehlot said steps would be taken to bring back Nimisha. He also asked the state government to intensify the investigation into the disappearance of several Malayalis from the state over the last several months.
The pregnant girl Nimisha Fathima, 25, had snapped contact with her mother Bindu of Attukal from June 4. Fathima was married to Eesa of Palakkad, her senior at Century Dental College, Poinachi, Kasargod. As per Bindu, she came to know about her daughter’s relationship with Esa when she abruptly stopped contacting her parents in November 2015 while pursuing the fourth year of her BDS.
